Nylon insert lock nuts have a nylon nylon material located at the top of the nut. The bolt threads into the nylon material which helps prevent loosening from vibration. These prevailing torque lock nuts offer excellent vibration resistance and positive locking under severe shock. The nylon collar prevents liquid seepage and internal corrosion. Compressive forces exert constant friction grip on the bolt and prevent loosening. Nuts may be reused. Steel is zinc plated for moderate protection against rust.
